How it works
- 1 Type or paste names, one per line. The list is saved in your browser for next time.
- 2 Choose a number of teams or a team size, and use the plus and minus buttons to set it.
- 3 Tick Balance by skill to add one to three stars after a name, like “Sam ***”. Names with no stars count as two.
- 4 Tap Make teams. Tap Shuffle again for a new split, and Copy result to paste it into a chat.
When to use it
- → Game nights: split a group for charades, Pictionary-style drawing or trivia.
- → Sports and classes: make quick, fair groups without arguments over who picks first.
- → Work and school: form project groups or breakout rooms.
- → Odd numbers: some teams will have one more person than others. That is normal.

How does the random team generator work? +
It shuffles the names you enter and deals them into teams one by one. Each time you shuffle again, you get a new random split.
How does skill balancing work? +
Add one to three stars after a name. The generator sorts players by stars and deals them out in a back-and-forth order so the star totals come out close.
Is my list saved or sent anywhere? +
The list is stored only in your own browser so it is there next time. It is not uploaded.
Can I get teams of a set size? +
Yes. Switch to People per team and set the number. If the group does not divide evenly, one or more teams will be a person short.
