How it works
- 1 Choose a set, or leave it on Mix. Use Your own words to paste a list, one per line.
- 2 Split into two teams. The actor taps New word and looks at it alone. Turn on hide mode if you pass the phone around.
- 3 Start the round timer, act the word out without speaking, and let your team guess.
- 4 Tap Guessed or Not guessed to score the turn. The other team goes next.
Tips for better charades
- → Agree on signals first: tap your wrist for the time, hold up fingers for the number of words, and point to your ear for sounds-like.
- → Start with the Easy set if kids are playing, and save Movies for when everyone is warmed up.
- → Actors cannot speak or point at objects in the room. Everything else is allowed.
- → Try 30 seconds per word for a faster game, or 90 for harder phrases.

How do you play charades? +
One player gets a secret word and acts it out without speaking while their team guesses. Teams take turns, and each correct guess within the time limit scores a point.
Do I need to sign up or download anything? +
No. The generator runs in your browser. If you clear your site data, nothing is lost because nothing is saved.
Can I use my own words? +
Yes. Choose Your own words, type or paste one word or phrase per line, and the generator draws from your list without repeats.
Can I play without teams? +
Yes. Turn the timer off and just tap New word, or keep the two-team score for a friendly rivalry. You can reset the score at any time.
