How it works
- 1 Choose a category, or leave it on All.
- 2 Tap the option you’d pick. Can’t decide? That’s the point. Pick anyway.
- 3 For couples or friends, switch to Two players: Player 1 taps, then hands over the phone, Player 2 taps, and you see if you matched.
- 4 Tap Next and keep going. Questions don’t repeat until you’ve seen them all.
Ways to play This or That
- → Round the table: one person reads both options and everyone shouts their pick on three.
- → Two players: play the matching mode and keep score. Ten in a row is a good night.
- → Icebreaker: in a meeting or class, everyone answers the same five questions and explains one.
- → Over text: send a screenshot of the card and wait for the reply.

How do you play This or That? +
Someone reads two options, like “beach or mountains”, and everyone picks one. There are no right answers; the fun is in the reasons. Online, you tap your choice and move to the next card.
Can two people play This or That on one phone? +
Yes. Switch to Two players: Player 1 taps a choice, hands the phone over, Player 2 taps, and the game shows whether you matched and keeps count.
Is This or That the same as Would You Rather? +
They’re close. This or That is quick preferences (“cats or dogs”), Would You Rather is usually a tougher dilemma (“never use your phone again or never travel again”). Both work well together.
