Free printable Wavelength template

Make your own Wavelength-style dial at home in about 15 minutes. Print these three pages, glue them to cereal-box cardboard, cut out the target wheel, cover and pointer, and join them with one brad fastener. Page 3 has 10 spectrum cards and 2 blanks for your own.

Print at 100% (actual size) on A4 or US Letter.

How to put it together

  1. 1 Print all three pages at 100% scale.
  2. 2 Glue page 1 and page 2 onto thin cardboard and let them dry.
  3. 3 Cut out the target wheel, the half-circle cover and the pointer. Cut the spectrum cards apart.
  4. 4 Stack wheel, cover and pointer, push a brad fastener through the three centre dots and open its legs at the back.

To play: the clue giver lifts the cover, turns the wheel to a random spot, looks, and closes the cover. Then follow the Wavelength rules.

Questions

Is this the official Wavelength game? +

No. This is a free homemade template for a Wavelength-style dial game. Wavelength is a board game by Alex Hague, Justin Vickers and Wolfgang Warsch, published by CMYK. If you play a lot, the official game is well worth buying.

What do I need to make it? +

A printer, scissors, a glue stick, one brad fastener (split pin), and some cardboard from a cereal box to make the pieces stiff. A paper plate works too if you want to draw the wheel by hand.

Does it print on US Letter and A4? +

Yes. Every piece fits inside both page sizes. Print at 100% (actual size), not "fit to page", so the wheel and cover line up.
